Left handed Infielders
By: K.L. WilsonChris, Don't make a big deal out of the Left Handed infielder riddle. You are dealing with 7 & 8 year olds. I finally saw the light a couple of years ago. They're little kids and no matter how hard we try, they will not turn into Major Leaguers before its time. At 7 & 8 they should ALL be getting exposed to different positions. Granted, in a couple of years or more the disadvantages of being a left hander and trying to play in the middle or third will become more apparant. But for now, let them play and fall in love with the game that we all love.
P.S. It is never too early to stress the importance of the outfield.. Too many kids think it a punishment or a lack of skill that finds them there. Some of the best to ever play the game were/are outfielders. I make a big deal out of it and my kids think its an honor to play out there.
