"Bunting" Square around or Pivot

By: Kathy

I prefer the pivot and drag bunt(for righties)for
a few reasons. Pivoting is easier to teach to
younger players, but I feel it actually offers more
bat control than squaring around. It is a more
natural position for angling the bat to bunt down
the 3rd base line and will more often advance a
runner and get you a base hit at the same time. In
the pivot position the batter can also execute a
slap or push bunt at the last instant.
